GHAZIABAD: Four members of an interstate gang of thieves were arrested late on Saturday with stolen batteries of mobile phone towers and spare parts of e-rickshaws worth Rs 1 crore.The hideout of the gang, which had its network across UP, Maharashtra, Punjab and Gujarat , was raided on a complaint by Reliance Jio that batteries worth crores were being stolen from its towers.Police said as many as 48 batteries, each containing 24 cells, six e-rickshaws and several spare parts were recovered from the house of the gang’s kingpin, Mehraz, in Nai Basti of Loni.Mehraz used to lead the gang with his younger brother, Arshad, a Class XI dropout who used to maintain a record of stolen goods..
