Dial 100 and lodge a complaint: Number of FIRs sees a steep rise in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad | Saturday | 14th July, 2018

Summary:

Similarly, 269 cases of robbery were filed in May 2018 as compared to 94 cases in 2016 and 120 cases in 2017. Once they make a call to Dial 100, the PRVs, which reach the crime scene, give them a form to record their complaint.Three copies of the complaint are made. One copy is given to the complainant, another one is kept by the PRV for the record purpose. Under this new system, complainants of robbery, loot or snatching, and vehicle thefts, in which the accused are unknown, are no longer required to visit police stations for registration of FIRs. Cops posted at police posts and police stations are now more sensitive towards such crimes and in a very short span of time they have busted many gangs of chain snatchers and vehicle lifters.”.
