6 classrooms to be added to GMC-run girls’ school

GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation’s ( GMC ) executive committee has passed a proposal to invest Rs 60 lakh to construct six additional classrooms in the GMC-run girls school in Makanpur. Of the other proposal passed, the GMC will undertake the anti-encroachment drive in its zones to free its drains of illegal ramps. TOI had earlier reported that the school had only three classrooms.“The Balika Inter College in Makanpur has about 500 students and just three classrooms. “Residents have built ramps over drains which is inhibiting the flow of drains leading to water logging.,” Singh said. So a proposal was put to GMC executive committee on Monday which unanimously passed the proposal in which about Rs 60 lakh was sought to add six more classrooms and other amenities,” said C P Singh, municipal commissioner..
