Delhi-Loni road to be widened

GHAZIABAD: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is likely to issue this month bids approximately worth Rs 1,800 crore in two phases for upgrading the road linking Akshardham in Delhi with Loni in Ghaziabad. The stretch of the road in Ghaziabad is two-laned, which will be widened to six lanes. The state public works department was earlier scheduled to expand this stretch to four lanes, but had left it midway. The work for which NHAI will issue tenders in January constitutes the third phase of the corridor. The completed road will be signal-free.Of the 18km elevated section, 11km will fall in UP while the remaining will be in Delhi..
