Ghaziabad: Metro's Red Line extension gets nod for launch but with riders

The 9.41-km route is entirely on an elevated platform with eight stations in Ghaziabad—Shaheed Nagar, Raj Bagh, Rajendra Nagar, Shyam Park, Mohan Nagar, Arthala, Hindon river and New Bus Stand. “We are given to understand that either the chief minister or even the Prime Minister could inaugurate the corridor. However, a final decision is to be conveyed to us by the state government,” said an official in the administration. All along the 9.41-km, nearly 400 pillars have been erected at a height between 10m to 12m from ground. The final completion cost of the project has been pegged at Rs 1,781.21 crore..
