First Gzb metro train may be flagged off from Hindon stn

In June 2014, the GDA and the DMRC had signed an MoU for the extension of the presently operational Rithala – Dilshad Garden metro corridor. “While the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda metro line is ready for inauguration, we have informed the state government that by February 25, work on the civil terminal at the Hindon air base will also get over. The two projects can be inaugurated together,” the DM said. GHAZIABAD: The district magistrate of Ghaziabad, Ritu Maheshwari, and the vice-chairperson of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), Kanchan Verma, carried out an inspection of metro stations on the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda corridor on Friday.The inspection is being seen as part of preparations ahead of the inauguration of the metro line that is likely to take place after February 25.“With the inauguration in mind, we inspected the New Bus Adda and Hindon river metro stations and it was proposed that inauguration function should be held at the Hindon river metro station,” said Verma.“The Hindon river front was proposed keeping in mind the availability of space around this metro station, which could accommodate a large number of people and vehicles without disturbing the traffic,” she added.The district administration is eyeing the inauguration of the terminal along with the opening of Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda metro corridor..
