Amity told to refund excess fee, 11 others pulled up

GHAZIABAD: The district fee regulation committee (DFRC) has ordered Amity International School in Vasundhara to refund or adjust the excess fees it charged from students of classes 1 to 10 in the academic year 2018-19. “The refund or adjustment of excess fee will be between Rs 968 and Rs 2,669 per student,” she added.Amity has confirmed receipt of the DFRC’s order. Admission fee can be charged only when a student joins school.To implement the Act, a district-level committee referred to as the district fee regulation committee (DFRC) was also formed, vested with the powers of a civil court. The committee has also issued notices to 11 other private schools over “arbitrary” fee hike.“It has been found by the committee that Amity International School in Vasundhara’s Sector 1 has hiked fees, which was not in accordance with the provisions of UP Self-Financed Independent Schools (Fee Regulation) Act, 2018..
