Man forges land documents for govt aid, booked

During scrutiny of the submitted papers, the officials found that Das had mentioned different residential addresses on his Aadhaar card and bank’s passbook. He had subsequently submitted his Oriental Bank of Commerce account details, along with self-attested copies of PAN card and Aadhaar card and other relevant documents to the land acquisition wing.Later, on January 19 this year, he submitted an affidavit along with his Aadhaar card. On February 4, lekhpal Anil Kumar submitted his report to additional district magistrate (land acquisition) stating that Das was an impersonator as the land belongs to someone else.Moreover, Das had forged lekhpal’s signature on the file submitted by him at the land acquisition office. A clarification was sought from Das, but he could not give any satisfactory explanation.After that, the lekhpal of the region concerned was asked to verify the addresses. We are conducting an internal enquiry into the matter.”.
