A recent PTI report said that the supply of vegetables and fruits to Delhi from other states have been impacted due to road blockages at the Singhu and Tikri border points of the national capital for the last few days.
The Chilla border on the Noida link road has also been shut for traffic as farmers protest intensified on Wednesday.
At Azadpur Mandi, the largest wholesale market in Delhi, supplies have been hit drastically, albeit a recovery in the past two days.
A member of the Azadpur Mandi told The Economic Times that prices of peas, potato and beans are stable after an initial increase on Friday and Saturday.
However, the situation is yet to fully normalise.
Vendors in Delhi said that the wholesale price of season vegetables has gone up, leading to a sharp increase in retail price.
