10 oxygen plants to come up at 9 govt hosps in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: As many as 10 oxygen generation plants have been sanctioned at nine government hospitals in Ghaziabad, mainly through CSR funds.

Eight of them will have the capacity to produce 24 litres of oxygen per minute (LPM), while the remaining two’s capacity is 140 LPM.

Eight of them will have the capacity to produce 24 litres of oxygen per minute (LPM), while the remaining two’s capacity is 140 LPM.

Officials said work is going on and most plants will become operational by the end of this month.

However, the initial deadline for the nine pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants was May 30.

The plants will be set up at ESIC Hospital in Sahibabad, District Combined Hospital (DCH), MMG District Hospital, District Women Hospital (DWH), Primary health centre in Bhojpur and community health centres (CHCs) in Muradnagar, Modinagar, Loni and Dasna.

As many as two plants will be set up at MMG District Hospital, the largest government hospital in the district having 166 beds.

For two plants at MMG District hospital, laying of the pipeline is going on for one and the vendor, which will carry out the construction, is yet to be selected for the second.

At DCH, the foundation laying work for the plant has been completed and the plant is yet to be installed.
