Goa: 12-day assembly session likely from July 19

PANAJI: The monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is likely to be held from July 19 to August 3. He flew in to Goa by a special aircraft of the Maharashtra government and after a brief stopover at his residence, drove down to the assembly to chair the cabinet before presenting his budget. Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has cleared the dates for the assembly session, and the file has been sent to the governor to summon the assembly.After the chief minister was unwell, the last assembly session which was to be held for a month, was later curtailed to four days.Speaking to TOI, speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Pramod Sawant said that during the 12-day session, discussion on the budget and passing of demands would be held.On February 22, exactly a week after he was hospitalised in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital with pancreatitis and nearly five hours after he was discharged, Parrikar presented his budget for 2018-19 in the assembly..
