MARGAO: Town and country planning (TCP) minister Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday urged Goans to develop a positive mindset as he reiterated the Goa BJP-led coalition government was taking everyone into confidence in their plans to develop a “clean green Goa model”.Social media is being misused to spread negativity and it will only result in more Goans leaving the state, Sardesai said after unfurling the tricolour to mark the Independence Day celebrations at the South Goa collectorate, here.He said the government was bringing in reforms and creating opportunities as Goans have gone abroad due to lack of opportunities in the state. “We require a positive mindset to make Goa strong and India strong,” he said even as he defended the opposition to the recently passed Transferable Development Rights (TDR) Bill.The TCP minister recalled the freedom fighters valiant efforts to free the nation and stressed emphasised upon Goa’s communal harmony and hospitable nature.He spoke of the challenges before the state government to implement the 5th Plan that would benefit the future generations.Sardesai said the Goa Civil Code could be implemented throughout India as he gave slogans of “New India New Goa” and “Clean Green Goa”, while underscoring the need to promote Goa’s unique heritage.Sardesai said it was a moment of pride that Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation officials visited the renovated South Goa planning and development authority (SGPDA) retail fish market to replicate it in their state.The minister also spoke of PM’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the agriculture department initiatives to ensure a green state..
