Festive season, sudden rain drive vegetable prices higher

PANAJI: Over the past week, prices of various vegetables and greens have been fluctuating, owing mainly to the ongoing festive season. The sudden rain showers, too, have played a part.Beans, which were retailing at Rs 50-60 per kilo last week, are currently priced at Rs 70-80 per kilo. An officer from the horticulture corporation, meanwhile, attributed the price fluctuation to the festive season.“The rates have gone up in the past two days owing to Dussehra.
