PONDA: With the installation of the online pollution monitoring system at the Sanjivani Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana and verification by the Goa State Pollution Control Board ( GSPCB ), factory officials are scheduled to fly to Delhi to submit the same to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to get the factory closure notice revoked.Having the pollution monitoring system in place has rekindled hope among sugarcane farmers that the factory may finally start crushing at the earliest.As the 46-year-old state-funded factory had no pollution monitoring system for the last several years, the CPCB had red-flagged the unit and asked it to shut down production.The order brought uncertainty as to when the new crushing season would begin. The factory had even sought a relaxation .The factory engaged Nevco Engineering, New Delhi, to install the continuous pollution monitoring system.Nevco Engineering has issued a compliance certificate to the factory and with the certificate, factory administrator Damodar Morajkar along with his production in-charge will leave to New Delhi on Monday night, Morajkar said.GSPCB chairman Ganesh Shetgaonkar said that after verifying the facts, the CPCB will revoke its closure order and the factory will be allowed to start production..
