Don’t need tourists who come in buses & cook on road: Manohar Azgaonkar

PANAJI: The state doesn’t need tourists who come in buses, cook on road, eat and go back, said tourism minister Manohar Azgaonkar on Friday. “Goa doesn’t want hotels that sell drugs. At some beaches, Goa Tourism Development Corporation faced problems in building toilet blocks and other facilities due to opposition from locals.The minister said the tourism policy will be finalised after due consultations with all MLAs. Not just Indians, but people across the world like to visit it,” he said during an event to launch Raj Bhavan tours.Tourism minister said Goa doesn’t want tourists who visit the state for drugs. We don’t want tourists who go to beaches and break bottles,” said Azgaonkar adding that Goa will welcome tourists who respect the state’s culture and Goemkarponn.He said the entire coastline needs to be developed with facilities such as locker rooms and washrooms for tourists..
