In a year a school raises Rs 338 lakh for cancer patients

PANAJI: The King’s School, Margao has disbursed Rs 33.8 lakh to 79 patients suffering from various types of cancer during the year. It has raised Rs 48.8 lakh through various activities, in aid of welfare of cancer patients. The school is open to receiving more applications from cancer patients and their families across the state.During its latest endeavour — the third edition of the Annual Ride to Conquer Cancer — to raise funds in aid for Cancer Patient’s Welfare, last month, the school raised Rs 1.9 lakh. The ride that began at Sao Jose De Areal ended at Betul with participants even making a stopover at the DefExpo site.In December the school through its seventh annual dine and dance raised a total of Rs 46.9 lakh.
