Governor s intervention sought for Ribandar health center

Aires Rodrigues has sought the intervention of Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai for setting up of a Community Health Center at the Old Ribandar Hospital. Rodrigues in his letter sent to Governor Pillai today has drawn his attention that the Old Ribandar Hospital was Asia's first medical school established in 1867 with a very glorious history and that this priceless heritage structure needs to be preserved by maintaining its history in restoring the premises with a full fledged Community Health Center having all possible Health Care facilities. Pointing out that since the Goa Medical College's Ribandar Hospital was moved to Bambolim there has been a longstanding demand of the local residents that Health care facilities be restored at the Old Ribandar Hospital to cater to the medical needs of the people Adv. Rodrigues in his letter has pointed out that in 2017 the then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had publicly assured the residents of Ribandar that he would ensure that within three months full medical care facilities would be restored at the Old Ribandar Hospital. Rodrigues in his letter has urged Governor Pillai to kindly intervene and ensure that this long overdue Community Health Center with all medical facilities is in public interest set up urgently at the Old Ribandar Hospital so that it is accessible round the clock for those requiring medical assistance..
