Kadamba plateau residents to go on ‘Jal Satyagraha’

PANAJI: Residents at the Kadamba plateau, who have been depending on water tankers for their water requirement have threatened, on Monday, to resort to a 'Jal Satyagraha' if water supply is not restored to them by December 19. "We have a valid panchayat and statutory licenses for occupying the houses constructed, but the government has not provided us with tap water. We are also carrying out major repair and maintenance works at the Opa water treatment plant. PWD will be able to supply maximum three million litres per day (MLD) water in the area only after that, which is expected to be completed by February 2018." Those (pipelines) will be restored soon..
