Summary:

Saligao: Villagers and members of the Saligao panchayat recently vented their ire against the staff of Bank of India's Saligao branch, after its officials "coerced and frightened" them over the last few weeks to link their Aadhaar cards to their accounts. Villagers said the protest was triggered when branch manager Ashwini Naidu, allegedly refused to honour the cheque of a customer, Suhail Kiran, and asked him to complete the linking process first. Naidu later met sarpanch Lafira Gomes, who told her she couldn't deny clients their own money or force them to link their Aadhaar cards to their accounts..
