54 prisoners attend 45-day-long course, turn yoga trainers

GURUGRAM: A total of 54 jail inmates, serving terms in different jails across Haryana, were part of the first batch of the 45-day-long ‘Yoga Teacher Training’ course at Bhondsi jail , the first such initiative in the state. Regular yoga sessions will be organised in jails,” Prasad said.The course, which was especially designed for prisoners, includes practical as well as theoretical classes. The programme was organised by NGOs India Vision Foundation, Panchvati Yoga Ashram and Nature Cure Centre in affiliation with World Yoga Organisation, according to Bhondsi jail superintendent Jai Kishan Chillar. Yoga helps prisoners immensely as it works towards reduce stress levels and negative thoughts,” Chillar said.
