Patwari shot dead during survey in Gurugram

GURUGRAM: A 52-year-old land records officer was shot on Tuesday during a survey of government land so that it could be freed from encroachments. An FIR was registered against five people on the complaint of Virender under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and sections of the Arms Act. The injuries were fatal.Singh was part of a team of around eight officials that had gone to assess the land, located in Sector 1 of Manesar, and talk to the squatters. One bullet hit his temple and another his left shoulder.
