Summary:

A notice had been issued to the Kingdom of Dreams for the payment of earlier dues, he said, adding: “We have given time to Kingdom of Dreams and if it still fails to make the outstanding payment, action would be taken accordingly.” CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar clarified on Thursday that as the licence of realty major DLF’s commercial land, owned originally by Skylight Hospitality at the time when Robert Vadra was linked to the company, has not been renewed, it is deemed to have lapsed.TOI had reported earlier this week that the BJP government in Haryana had over the last two years accepted Rs 91.84 lakh from DLF, but had never formally informed the firm about its licence being renewed after December 15, 2012.DLF deposited the fee in November 2016 for renewing the licence till December 14, 2018 so that it could keep its claim on the land alive. Interestingly, the Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress regime too had accepted renewal fees in February 2013 and May 2014.The payment of the licence fee had divided experts on the issue — some believed that acceptance of the fee amounted to granting “deemed renewal of licence” while others contended that mere depositing of licence fee did not mean it had been granted. The confusion has now been put to rest, with Khattar clarifying that the licence was deemed to have lapsed.Khattar was accompanied by his principal secretary Rajesh Khullar and principal secretary (town and country planning) A K Singh at the press conference. The chief minister also referred to the non-payment of pending dues by Gurgaon’s Kingdom of Dreams..
