Summary:

AMBALA: Four farmers of Sapehra village in Ambala have stopped burning their crop residue since 2011. The farmers are interested but without the equipment there's no other alternative to burning the stubble. Sapehra farmers have proved that after mixing the stubble into the soil, the use of diammonium phosphate and urea fertilizer reduces considerably and that the stubble provides the necessary nutrients to the soil. We had also showed the farmers how they can sow wheat without burning paddy straw, as well as how to prepare the field for potato without burning the paddy straw. Today nearly 150 farmers from different villages of the district have visited here and we have shown them how to run the equipment..
