Ambala AQI satisfactory at 76, administration urges residents to celebrate green Diwali

AMBALA: The district administration has been monitoring the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the district, which is currently 76, standing at the satisfactory mark. The district police have also registered two cases under the Explosive Acts against the accused selling the crackers illegally.Deputy commissioner Sharandeep Kaur Brar wished the district residents on the eve of Diwali and appealed them to celebrate green Diwali. The district administration has also banned the firing of rockets or firecrackers above four meters in height in the areas near Indian Oil Corporation so as to avoid any untoward incidents. "The district administration has also urged all the residents to gather at a common place and burn as fewer crackers as possible keeping the sound and air pollution in view. DC urged the residents not to burn crackers within the 100-meter range of hospitals, educational institutes, court, religious places as they all come under categories of peaceful places.The administration has also urged the parents to keep a check on their children in order to avoid any incidents..
