Haryana CSR Summit: Corporates promise Rs 1.21 crore on Day 1

GURUGRAM: Corporates have pledged Rs 1.21 crore in corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds to the state government, on the Day One of the inaugural Haryana CSR Summit At the summit, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar urged corporates to take a cue from global philanthropist Bill Gates and put in money for 341 state government projects. Khattar expressed hope that Haryana will achieve a CSR target of Rs. 177.49 crores in CSR in Haryana after the summit. Besides, a project management unit was established to monitor and fast-track implementation of CSR initiatives.A total of 23 companies assured the CM they will spend Rs. He also appealed to corporate leaders to adopt 6,745 villages in Haryana and carry out development works in them.Meanwhile, the country’s first CSR portal was launched to serve as a platform for corporates to identify the right CSR projects in government departments..
