Students to find ways for disposal of PET bottle waste

The students will then present the collected data to MCG Jessie Lemos, secretary, Samaritans — The Social Initiatives Club, MDI Gurugram, said, “These volunteers will be trained towards the process of effective disposal of PET bottles. The objective is to figure out the current rate of plastic recycling,” added Mishra.The project aims at making citizens and corporates work towards a cause.The target is to conduct the study in 25-30 condominiums, 10 corporate offices and five shopping malls in 45 days. Students will find out where the plastic is going in the respective areas and how they can ensure recycling has happened, ensuring a plastic-free environment,” said Aman Mishra, chief operating officer (COO), Volunteer4India.As a pilot project, around 150 students will visit condominiums, apartments, residential societies, shopping malls, food joints and corporate houses across Gurugram, where they will identify the current state of PET segregation and raise awareness about the recycling procedure.“We wanted to focus on one type of plastic waste..
