1,083 unrecognised schools in Haryana face shutdown threat

Gurgaon: The Haryana government has released a list of 1,083 schools in the state that will be forced to shut down if they don’t apply for recognition. Before a school gets affiliated to CBSE or the Haryana Board, it needs to be recognised by the state education department.In the city alone, there are 92 schools that are unrecognised and facing closure. Owing to stringent rules, about two lakh children in the state (18,000 in the city) face the possibility of their schools getting shut down. Private school owners have been urging the central government to grant them recognition and work on their regularisation. This number can only be provided by recognised schools.”.
