Gurgaon: A woman and her lover were sentenced to life imprisonment by a city court on Saturday for their alleged involvement in her husband’s murder in June 2015. Vinita’s husband Lalit Kumar (35) came to know about their relationship while checking her phone one day. He began questioning Vinita and that prompted her to plan the murder, the police said.Lalit, alias Bittu, a farmer and a political worker in Mehchana village, was found murdered in his house on June 13, 2015. “Both were arrested after the court order on Saturday and sent to jail,” said spokesperson, Gurgaon police, Subhash Boken.Initially, Babita and Kalu were also arrested and made accused in the case. But no evidence was found against them and their names were dropped at the time of filing chargesheet.The police said that technical evidence and Vinita’s call details had helped them arrest the accused..
