Wedding venues move to Gurugram after Delhi and Noida puts night curfew and cap on number of wedding guests

The COVID-19 cases have raised alarm bells in the national capital as the city recorded 10,744 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday amid the fourth wave.

The night curfew has been imposed in Delhi and Noida from 10 pm to 5 am to curb the spread of the infections.

As per the report, the hall owners said that they have seen an increase in inquiries from areas where restrictions are in place.

Many were of the view that as wedding season is about to begin, the function would be at night, thereby it would be difficult for them to hold it during the day.

People scrambling for venues

As per the wedding planner in the city, the people are now scrambling for venues in Gurugram, Mussoorie, and Dehradun as restrictions have come up in NCR cities.

Many are planning to delay the event and others are planning to have small daytime or evening ceremony, as reported.

Tents flooded with calls

The president of the Haryana tent dealers` association also said that they are flooded with calls from NCR cities amid recent curbs.

People said that they are left with no choice but to change the venue as auspicious occasions would take place at night.

Curfew in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad

The three cities are under night curfew starting 10 pm to 5 am as the cases have been rising at an alarming rate.

Also, the number of guests at weddings in Delhi has now been fixed at 50.

In UP, not more than 100 people are allowed to gather in open areas and 50 in indoor spaces.

In Haryana, as per the guidelines, 50% of the total capacity of the indoor hall should be occupied.
