In a first, Gurgaon to open walk-in sites for 18-44, Covaxin shots to be given

Gurgaon: For the first time in the city, people in the 18-44 years category will be able to get vaccinated at 37 government centres without any prior registration.

On Monday, the health department will conduct the walk-in vaccination drive and 200 people in the age group would be inoculated in each of the 37 session sites.

No registration on Co-WIN would be required and Covaxin shots would be administered at all centres, officials have said.

It will be a one-day exercise and the target is to inoculate 7,400 people.

For the past few days, people in the 18-44 years age group could get jabs only at private centres or at drive-through sites.“Due to limited number of vaccine doses available with us, we are planning to inoculate the first 200 people who reach each site.

Police and civil defence teams would be deployed at these centres.

Residents will be given tokens and only those with tokens would get the jabs.
