Bangladesh takes back 21 living illegally in Assam

KARIMGANJ/GUWAHATI: Altogether 21 Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, who were in detention in Assam for over two to four years, were deported to their country on Saturday.After receiving approval from the Union home ministry, the 21 foreigners were sent back after being handed over by the Assam Border Police and BSF to Border Guards Bangladesh at a checkpost in Karimganj, an Assam police spokesman said in Guwahati.The foreigners were detained for violation of the Passport Act, Assam police sources in Cachar said, adding that they had illegally entered Assam through Tripura two years ago..
