Staff ReporterGUWAHATI: Noted fiction writer and critic of Sahitya Akademi repute Purabi Bormudoi passed away at the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College & Hospital) here this morning. Her body was handed over to the GMCH, fulfilling her wish. Even as she started her career as a teacher, she gave up her service and devoted herself fully in literary works. In a condolence message, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the people of the State will remember with respect what the writer contributed to the Assamese literature in her lifetime.
