Based on specific information, a joint operation of Army, Assam Rifles and Assam Police was carried out yesterday, resulting in the arrest of self-styled major Anok Wangsa, area commander of NSCN-IM. The individual confirmed that he had hidden more weapons, ammunition and war like stores in his house located on the Assam – Nagaland border. The apprehended individual is the deputy of NSCN (IM) who is believed to be involved in the killing of MLA Tirong Aboh.
