Assam Floods 34 Villages in Kamrup M Still Under Water

Staff ReporterGUWAHATI: The Kamrup (M) district is still under the grip of floods with as many as 34 villages, mainly on outskirts, are still reeling under water. According to ASDMA (Assam State Disaster Management Authority), Kamrup (M), 13 villages in Sonapur Revenue Circle, 19 villages in Chandrapur Revenue Circle and two villages Dispur Revenue Circle have been under water. A population of 66,854, including 40,000 in Sonapur Revenue Circle, 21,254 in Chandrapur Revenue Circle and 5,600 in Azara Revenue Circle have been affected. The mark was crossed on July 11 this year by a centimeter.”Even as the water level is receding at many places in many rivers, yet the situation is still grim. A total of 212122.74-hectare crops, 25,18,825 animals and 22,59,413 poultry have been affected by the floods..
