GUWAHATI: Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, assumed the charge of Eastern Army Commander, on Sunday with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Eastern Command War Memorial. General Chauhan completed his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Fort William, Kolkata before joining the National Defence Academy, Pune. The General Officer has a vast experience of both conventional and counter-Insurgency operations. The services of the officer have been adequately recognised by the government with a number of awards.
