Guwahati Municipal Corporation 90 NGOs Selected For Waste Collection

STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) accumulates 500 tonnes of waste per day. Primary collection of the waste source is through NGOs and a total of 58 NGOs are involved in 31 wards. Now, the 31 wards are divided into 90 parts and 90 NGOs will be engaged for proper door-to-door waste collection. GMC has engaged IIT, Kharagpur as consultant for preparation of DPR for integrated solid waste management in Guwahati.
