Assam Government To allots One Lakh Land Pattas To Landless Indigenous People

STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: The Assam Government has decided to allot one lakh land to landless indigenous people of the State. In case of rural areas the deputy commissioners will be directly empowered to select beneficiaries and distribute pattas. The Revenue department will give the final seal of approval in case of selection of beneficiaries in urban areas. During a conference of DCs and SPs held before publication of the final NRC, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal gave his verbal instruction to DCs to select genuine landless indigenous people to avail pattas.
