Guwahati: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that women weavers of Assam have to play an important role in bolstering the growth of the Indian economy. He said that using latest mode of science and technology, the output of the wavers of Assam will have to be enhanced. Referring to Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi who said weavers of Assam weave dreams in their looms is the testimony of the superiority of handloom and textile in Assam. The Handloom and Textile fairs started from 2015, provided an impetus to the growth of the weavers in Assam.
