STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: The stalled Lower Subansiri hydroelectric project along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh has been reignited by the NHPC after almost eight years sparking heated debates. The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) thoroughly condemned NHPC's announcement to restart the project and termed it illegal. “The desire to complete the Lower Subansiri hydroelectric project is both unjustified and illegal. Our prime motive behind opposing the move of NHPC to restart the Lower Subansiri hydroelectric project is that it will not benefit Assam in any way. If the project cannot yield economic gains for the State, there is no reason to bring the project to life,” said general secretary of the Parishad, Polash Sangmai..
