International Air Traffic Controllers Day Celebrated With Fanfare

GUWAHATI: Often called the 'Guardians of the Sky', they take all safety skills to enable a secure air travel all-round the globe. They are the Air Traffic Controllers. October 20 is celebrated as the 'International Day of Air Traffic Controller' and to mark the date, Airports Authority of India (AAI) commenced the occasion with tree plantation by the Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) near the ATC complex at LGBI Airport Guwahati. Remarkably, Air Asia also started its new services in the north-eastern region from Agartala Airport, connecting three destinations at one go on this International ATC Day.
