ShresthaGUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has expressed his deep condolences on the death of Havildar Padam Bahadur Shrestha who was martyred in an ambush at the Line of Control in Tangdhar Sector of Kupwara district of North Kashmir. In a statement here on Monday, Chief Minister Sonowal while terming the incident which took the life of the Army jawan as dastardly, said that the martyred jawan from Assam's Golaghat district laid his life to the service of the nation. He left behind a glowing example of dutifulness and sacrifice. Chief Minister Sonowal also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh to the next of the kin of the martyr, a press release stated.
