DC appeal masses to adopt safe Diwali practices

STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration (DA), initiated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Biswajeet Pegu, with Diwali nearing, has made the right noises by asking Diwali revelers in the district to limit their noises within the norms set for it. The apex court directed that on Dipawali days, fireworks would strictly be from 8 pm till 10 pm only. The district administration has also appealed to the citizens to celebrate Diwali in eco-and-environment-friendly ways. The District Commissioner (DC) Kamrup (M), Biswajeet Pegu informed that the five task force teams will ensure that crackers are not sold outside of the above mentioned locations.
