STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: The Directorate of Museums, Assam, in collaboration with the National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Property (NRLC), Lucknow, has organized a workshop on care of museum objects at Kanaklal Barua auditorium in Assam state Museum. The workshop has focused on many important aspects, including preventive conservation, object cleaning, storage management, handling, packing and transportation, disaster management and documentation etc. The Directorate of Museums Yazing, Assam Shimray Wunglengton said, “The current workshop is focused on conservation of heritage objects. If we maintain preventive conservation, 70 per cent of objects can be prolonged and preserved for posterity.
