Staff ReporterGUWAHATI: The Assam government is going to adopt a livestock policy for commercialization of the sector, albeit belatedly. Over the years the State government has been making do without any livestock policy of its own, thereby making livestock suppliers from outside the Northeast catering to the demand in the region. Now we're trying to bring a separate policy of livestock like ducks, chicken, pigs, goats, cattle etc. The very purpose of such a policy is commercialization of this sector in the State and the Northeast.
