Red Horns Division meet CM Sarbananda Sonowal to discuss State Security

GUWAHATI: GOC Red Horns Division KC, VSM, Deepak Mehra, held a meeting with the Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal at his office on Thursday to discuss the security situation in lower Assam and the contribution of Indian Army to support the government to contain insurgency. The GOC also briefed the Chief Minister regarding various initiatives and projects undertaken by the Army to constructively engage the local youths. In the year 2019 alone, approx 200 students have been sponsored by the Indian Army for various National Integration Tours under Operation Sadbhavna. The Army is also taking initiatives to undertake employment generation schemes for economic upliftment of local populace from underdeveloped remote regions of Assam.
