CM Sarbananda Sonowal Inaugurates Project Bipod Bandhu

STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: Under the maiden project Bipod Bandhu of the Fire & Emergency Services, Assam, volunteers are being trained to deliver aid till the time fire trucks and teams under it, come to the rescue. The project was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on October 3 this year, however, trainees who have been termed Bipod Bandhu, have been training since the year before. As per the deputy director of Fire & Emergency Services, Assam, Joyashree Kharasa, these volunteers are engaged in various locations of the 137 fire stations across the State. They have been trained to provide first aid along with controlling the situation till the fire trucks or State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) arrives.
