Staff ReporterGUWAHATI: Guwahati Police arrested a ULFA-I rebel, Bitupon Sonowal, from the Panjabari area here on Wednesday. Sources in Guwahati Police said that Bitupon had been holed up in the Panjabari area since December 28, 2019. Police sources said that Bitupon's confessional statement makes it clear that four more ULFA rebels have been holed up here where he was supposed to meet them. The police arrested Bitupon in connection with a case (3355/18) against the outfit, and produced him before the court that sent him to two-day police remand.
