STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: The Kamrup (Metropolitan) district administration has made elaborate arrangements to celebrate the country's 71st Republic Day at the playground of College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara on January 26. Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu told reporters here on Tuesday that the Republic Day parade would be led by the Assam Rifles along with scouts, guides and NCC on the ground. The best school for the parade will be selected and awarded during the celebrations, he said. Pegu said the inspectors of schools and the directorate of Elementary Education have already asked to conduct quiz and debate competitions among students in schools under Kamrup Metro district on the occasion of the Republic Day.
