GUWAHATI: On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, the District Administration and District Social Welfare Office, Kamrup (M) are celebrating the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Week from January 20 to 26 in the district. As a part of the activities of the week, the National Girl Child Day was celebrated on Friday in Srimanata Sankardev International Auditorium in Khanapara. Minister, Social Welfare and Soil Conservation Pramila Rani Brahma started the programme by lighting of the lamp. Around 1200 people including teachers and students from various schools and colleges, Anganwadi workers, supervisors were present at the programme.
