Debabrata Saikia writes to PM Narendra Modi on transportation of stranded labourers

STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: Leader of opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly Debabrata Saikia wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mobilize Army vehicles to transport labourers from Assam who are stranded in neighbouring states like Nagaland and Mizoram. In his letter, Saikia wrote that these people are not foreigners. As such, just like the NRIs they too deserve help from the Government during this unprecedented crisis. “As the lockdown commenced with immediate effect, crores of our countrymen were unable to prepare properly for the lockdown.
